Evolution

• Alleles that individuals have inherited , environment , genes and environment
• Genetic changes are caused by mutations to DNA
• Mutations can lead to new phenotype
• A animal with a desired characteristic will reproduce and produce offspring with the same characteristic they will then reproduce and so on this is natural selection
• selective breeding - We select parents with desired characteristics then make them reproduce so then they will have desired characteristics and then they will reproduce
• Fossils are the remains of organisms from millions of years ago which are found in rocks
• Fossils can form when parts of organisms have not decayed which can happen when the conditions needed for decay are absent
• Fossils can form even if an organism decays if parts of the organisms are slowly replaced by minerals during the decay process
• Fossils can be preserved traces of organisms
• problems - Most animals were soft with no shell or a skeleton which is a fossil
