  N: Asch’s study is lab exper (high control + artif set)= Low eco valid.

  A: Task of identifying lines in room of strangers is unlike IRL

  E: Limitation- can’t fully generalise results as it doesn’t fit RL

  C-C: Study uses lab exper which means high control over extran variables. E.g- Experimenter controlling confed response. Strength= researcher is confident the IV is causing DV
• Weakness (2)

  N: Study lacks pop valid. Unable to conclude whether others demonstrate same level of conformity.

  A: Sample of 123 American, male undergraduate students make psychologists unable to generalise results.

  E: Weakness- We must be cautious generalising findings of conformity to females, non-Americans + non-undergraduate. Could be some cultures/ particular gender is more conformist.
