  N: Study criticised for unethical, breaks deception + informed consent.

  A: PPs didn’t know real aim of study was testing conformity. They didn’t know other ‘PPs’ were confeds. Therefore unable give full informed consent. Not protected from psychological harm as its possible they may have felt embarrassed for conforming.

  E: Weakness- damages reputation of PSychology, discouraging PPs from participating in psych research.

  C-C: Participants couldn't have been told true purpose or it would have been invalid, by showing demand characteristics.

  N: Argued that study lacks population validity. Result= unable to conclude whether other populations demonstrate demand characteristics.

  A: Jenness used a sample of 101 Psychology students.

  E: Psychologists therefore are unable to generalise results to other populations, example= non-psychology students.
