      Investigate whether individuals change opinion in ambiguous situation, in response to group discussion.

      • Jen used ambig situ that involved full jar of 811 white beans.
      • 101 Psych students used.
      • PPs individually estimated how many beans jar contained. PPs divided into group to discuss group guess.
      • After discussion, PPs asked to individually guess number to see if og answer changed
    • Findings
      • Nearly all PPs changed og answer.
      • Average M PPs changed answers by 256 beans + F PPs by 382 beans
    • Conclusion
      • Result suggests PPs changed answers due to ISI, they believed group estimates more likely correct to their own.
