Reproductive System Male/Female

• Seminal Vesicle - gland that produces semen
• Penis - external male organ with a tip called glands
• Menstruation - monthly bleeding
• Fallopian Tubes - tubes connecting ovaries to uterus
• Vagina - muscular tube leading from cervix to outside body
• Ovulation - release of egg from ovary
• Uterus - muscular sac where fertilized egg develops into fetus
• Cervix - lower part of uterus that opens into vagina
• Uterine Lining - thick layer of cells lining the inside of the uterus
• Menarche - the first menstrual period
• Puberty - stage of development when secondary sex characteristics appear
• Ovum (egg) - female reproductive cell
• Sperm - male reproductive cell
• Menopause - a woman's period stops, it occurs on 45 or below
• Progesterone - a hormone that helps for pregnancy
• Estrogen - a hormone that stimulates growth of uterine lining
• Testosterone - the male sexual hormone that is responsible for the male organs
• Follicles - this is where the egg cells are carried until ovulation
• Ovary - produces eggs
• Scrotum - sacs like that contains testes
• Vas deferens - carries sperm from epididymis to urethra
• Epididymis - stores sperms
• Follicular - also called the "repairing"
• Luteal - occurs when there is no fertilization
• Prostate Gland - nourishes sperm and whitish fluid
• Cowpers Gland - produces semen and flushes the semen
• Urethra - way of both urine from the urinary bladder
• Urethra - passageway of both urine from the urinary bladder
