• Lloyd George himself did not want to be too harsh on Germany as they were one of Britain’s biggest trading partners pre-war.
• The public demanded very heavy reparations for the war.
• Lloyd George aimed to demilitarise Germany as a whole and especially the German navy to be destroyed so that Britain would have naval superiority.
• Lloyd George agreed with Wilson in public but in private he was less positive
• Lloyd George wanted to get rid of the German army and navy to protect the British Empire.
