  Raided for English resources; for 70 years they were stealing, killing etc

  Religion - Their God of war Odin would reward those who died in battle

  Agriculture - Land in England was very fertile and rich with lots if fertile resources

  Trade - Many English towns were key trading centers with Europe, this would make the Vikings rich
