      • you don’t physically have to be there to do the survey
      • You can fly over a private property as long as your drone weight is less than 250g
      • Can cover large areas quickly reducing the need for data collection time
      • Provides high accuracy
      • Can fit into small spaces
    • Disadvantage:
      weather dependent
      There are regulatory limits for where drones can be flown.
    • You need a license to fly a drone
    • A drone will return back to you once it’s dead
    • CAA:

    • RICS (royal institute of charted surveyors):

      • Is a professional body for those working in the built environment
      • H&S
    • Drone surveying:
      Drone surveying is a modern method of surveying that collects data from above creating maps and 3D models. (not visible to the human eye).
    • a drone survey can capture 3D point cloud images of the terrain and man made features.
    • LIDAR (light detector Ranging):
      Emmits Laser Pulsses on the erth surface to map out any topographical features.
