P6 - light

Cards (3)

  • process: refraction
    1. place glass block on paper and draw around block
    2. use ray box to shine ray of light through middle of glass block
    3. mark ray of lights entering and emerging from glass bock
    4. join points to show path of complete ray through block and draw normal line at 90 degrees to surface
    5. use protractor to measure angle of incidence and reflection
    6. use ray block to shine ray of light at different angles of incidences
  • process: reflection
    1. take paper and draw straight line across it
    2. place object so one of its sides line up with drawn line
    3. use ray box and shine ray of light at object's surface and mark incoming and reflected light rays
    4. draw normal at point where ray hits object
    5. use protactor to measure angle of incidence and reflection
    6. repeat for range of different objects
    • in the reflection practical, the reflected ray from smooth surface is as thin and bright as incident ray
    • the reflected ray from rough surface is wider or dimmer than incident ray
