  • Immigrants impacted Britain culurally as they introduced new cusines, many opening their own restaurants
  • The migrant population formed tight-knit communities within their individually areas that can still be seen today
  • Cities that welcomed a large population of Muslims built new mosques
  • Indian and Pakistani migrants brought Hindu & Muslim religions into England
  • Carribean migrants helped revitalise Christian churches particuarly contributing to gospel singing
  • Immigrants also majorly impacted sport and media, 1st to 3rd generation migrants such as Marcus Rahford, Rishi Sunak and Mo Farah
  • In 2012 the government announced people had to prove they had a right to England but for many who travelled from the Caribbean on the Windrush came on their parents passports. This resulted in many of them losing their jobs and some even being deported. The media reported this scandal in 2017 and the public was outraged. An official inquiry by the government led to an apology as well as promised compensation for the victims
