  • Directives
      → The speaker makes an attempt to get the subject to do something by expressing his/her wish.
  • Directives: Bring me some hot water.
  • Commisives
       → The speaker commits to take an action in future.
  • Commisives: I will call you tomorrow.
  • Expressives
       → The purpose is to express the speaker's psychological state
    or emotions.
  • Expressives: I’m sorry for being late.
  • Declarations
      → The speaker brings about a change in the world via words.
