• infant mortality rate is the number of chidlren dying before their first birthday, per 1000 live births
• dependancy ratio is the number of non-working/retired people compared to the number of working people
• migration is the movement of people across international borders to live somewhere else
• immigration is the movement of people into a country to live there
• emmigration is the movement of people out of a country to live somewhere else
• net migration is the difference between the people moving into the country and the people moving out of the country in a year.
