    • Special promotion is granted to police officers who have exhibited acts of conspicuous courage and gallantry at the risk of his/her life above and beyond the call of duty.
    • According to RA 9708, a criminal action or complaint against a police officer shall not be a bar to promotion, provided that upon finding of probable cause, the concerned police officer shall be ineligible for promotion.
    • If the police officer is found guilty of the crime by final judgment, his/her promotion shall be recalled without prejudice to the imposition of the appropriate penalties under applicable laws, rules and regulations.
