The Comprehensive School System made education no longer selective
However, the Comprehensive School System was criticised for reproducing class division through streaming
1965- Comprehensive Schools - Stopping selection at 11 and move towards comprehensive education. It was not compulsory but funding would be withdrawn from schools that did not take part
