• A new king came to power which reflected these changes in Macbeth
• ACT 1

  • Macbeth has victory in battle
  • Meet 3 witches
  • Witches predict Macbeth will be made Thane of Cawdor, eventually become king of Scotland
  • Tell Banquo he won’t become king but his descendants will
• ACT 2

  • Duncan is due to stay with MacBeths as a house guest
  • Macbeth and wife plan to murder King Duncan
  • Macbeth hesitates but L.M persuades
  • Try to cover up murder by blaming it on one of the guards
  • Malcolm and Donalbain flee the country
  • Leaves MacBeth as king
