Phonological Loop

Cards (2)

  • Phonological Store
    Acts as an inner ear
Holds information in speech based form for 1 to 2 seconds
Spoken words enter the store directly
Written words must first be converted into an articulatory ( spoken ) code before they can enter the phonological store
  • Articulatory Process
Acts like an inner voice rehearsing information from the phonological store
It circulates information around and around like a tape loop
    Hence the phonological LOOP
