  • Go to war with Spain, because of the humiliation of the Spanish match and the help Fredrick recover his lost land.
  • Raise money for this so he needs parliaments backing.
• Charles LONG-TERM Aims

  • Shift to arminianism (high church)
  • Impose his divine right onto new subjects
