  • Behaviour by a person (A) towards another person (B) is “domestic abuse“ if- (a) A and B are each aged 16 or over and are personally connected, and (b) the behaviour is abusive. Behaviour is ”abusive” if it consists of any of the following-
    (a) physical or sexual abuse
    (b) violent or threatening behaviour
    (c) controlling or coercive behaviour
    (d) economic abuse
    (e) psychological emotional or other abuse.
  • “Economic abuse” means any behaviour that has a substantial adverse effect on B’s ability to- (a) acquire, use or maintain money or other property, or (b) obtain good or services.
    A’s behaviour may behaviour “towards” B despite the fact that it consists of conduct directed at another person (for example, B’s child)
  • A mechanically propelled vehicle intended or adapted for use on roads
  • A MPV is a vehicle constructed so that it can be propelled mechanically by internal combustion engine, steam or electricity
  • An accident occurs due to the presence of a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road or other public place, causing personal injury to a person other than the driver of that mechanically propelled vehicle or damage to a vehicle other than that mechanically propelled vehicle or a trailer being drawn by that mechanically propelled vehicle.
  • An accident occurs due to the presence of a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road or other public place, causing personal injury to a person other than the driver of that mechanically propelled vehicle or damage to an animal other than an animal in or on that mechanically propelled vehicle or a trailer drawn by that mechanically propelled vehicle.
  • An accident occurs due to the presence of a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road or other public place, causing personal injury to a person other than the driver of that mechanically propelled vehicle or damage to any other property constructed on, fixed to, growing in or otherwise forming part of the land in which the road or place in question is situated and land adjacent to such land.
  • A person who when driving or attempting to drive a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road or public place is unfit to drive through drink or drugs is guilty of an offence.
  • A person (A) commits an offence if -
    (a) he intentionally penetrates the vagina or anus of another person (B) with a part of his body or anything else
    (b) the penetration is sexual
    (c) B does not consent to the penetration, and
    (d) A does not reasonably believe that B consents
  • A person (A) commits an offence if-
    (a) he intentionally touches another person (B)
    (b) the touching is sexual
    (c) B does not consent to the touching, and
    (d) A does not reasonably believe that B consents
  • A person consents if he agrees by choice and has the freedom and capacity to make that choice
  • An interview is the questioning of a person regarding their involvement or suspected involvement in a criminal offence or offences and must be carried out under caution. Whenever a perosn is interviewed they must be informed of the nature of the offence of further offences.
  • A person is vulnerable if, as a result of their situation or circumstances they are unable to take care or protect themselves or others from harm or exploitation
