somatic cell nuclear transfer

• transferring of genetic material from somati cell to produce cloned organism
• 1. somatic cell taken from organism (being cloned)
• 2. egg cell taken from another organism and nucleus removed producing an enucleated egg cell ( nucleus removed)
• 3. nucleus is removed from somatic cell and inserted into enucleated egg
• 4. nucleus and egg cell fused together using an electric shock
• 5. fertilised egg cell divids developing into an embryo
• 6. early embryo is implanated into surrogate mother
• 7. offspring is genetically identical to organism that donated nucleus from somatic cell
