Covalent bonding

• Always involves non metals (including hydrogen)
• Electron sharing
• Produces neutral molecules
• Lone pairs of electrons do not bond to other atoms. They are called non-bonding pairs
• Lone pairs occupy molecular orbitals and they spin in opposite directions
