• Population change in Tadcaster over time

  Historically the West of Tad had a far greater population however the increase of population in the East of Tad rapidly increased from 1,370 in 1931 ,when the population of west Tadcaster was much greater at 2,317, to 2,149 in 1971 to the population of east Tadcaster being larger than west Tadcaster at 3821 in 2011.

  The population of West Tad increased rapidly between 1961 and 1971 from 2,315 to 3,118 as housing estates were built but since 2001 there has not been an increase in population as there has not been any significant building since.
