• Pizzicato means plucked on a string instrument

• Tremolo is when on a string instrument the player bows very fast, giving a trembling effect
• Divisi is when a part divides into two or more parts, on the same musical staff
• Con sordino means use a mute to dampen the sound of an instrument
• Slurred notes means joining notes together smoothly
• When a wind instrument tongues, it gives a clear attack on each note
• Glissando/slide is sliding between notes
• A drum roll is beats played in rapid succession
• A rim shot is hitting the rim and head of the drum at the same time
