• Minuet and trio is an elegant dance (moderato) in 3/4 often used for the third movement of a symphony
• De capo aria: an aria is a song for a soloist in an oratorio with instrumental accompaniment. ABA. the composer would write out sections A and B and then write de capo aria at the end to indicate the singer must return to the beginning and repeat section A. This time they would use lots of ornamentation. This was popular in baroque music
• A cadenza is a short virtuosic passage played free time to show off the players skill usually in a concerto
• Strophic form is when the same music is used for each verse of a song but the lyrics differ like a hymn
• Through composed is when each section of a song is different like bohemian rhapsody
• 32 bar song form is AABA and each phrase lasts 8 bars. Popular for the chorus of songs in musicals
