• The Golgi apparatus is involved in the processing, packaging, and distribution of proteins and lipids produced by the endoplasmic reticulum.
• The cell theory states that:

  1. Cells are the basic unit of life 2. All organisms are composed of at least one cell. 3. All cells come from pre-existing cells.
• Cell membranes are formed of phospholipid bilayers.
• Phospholipids are amphipathic, with hydrophilic phosphate heads, and hydrophobic fatty acid tails.
