    • Simple and clear
    • May keep on sending them through to encourage people to return them (Postal)

    • Questions are personal so are likely to get a better response
    • No problem of an interviewer bias (Researcher is not present)

    • Lots of non-response rates - lack generalisability, representativeness, low in validity
