  Secretes hormones into the blood stream.Some of the hormones it releases regulate other glands. The endocrine and central nervous systems interact the hypothalamus.

  the adrenal cortex and adrenal medulla
• What does the adrenal cortex do?

  produces cortisol in response to stress, if cortisol is low this can lead to low blood pressure, poor immune function and poor stress response.

  releases adrenaline and noradrenalin which prepare the body for fight-or-flight.
