    Main functions:
    • Create, review, and approve laws.
    • Conduct investigations on national issues.
    • Ratify international treaties.
    • Acts as the impeachment court for high-ranking officials, including the President.

    • Official residence and workplace of the President of the Philippines.
    • The President, as the head of the executive branch, executes and enforces laws.
    • Houses the Office of the President, which includes Cabinet members and government agencies.
    • Issues executive orders, proclamations, and national policies.
  • BARMM has its own government and makes some of its own laws.
  • CAR is still under the national government but focuses on protecting indigenous culture
  • BARMM (Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao)
    • A special region in Mindanao with its own government.
    • It was created in 2019 to give more control to the Muslim communities over their laws and development.
    • Has its own leaders and parliament, separate from the national government.
    • Includes 6 provinces in Mindanao where most people are Muslim (Moro groups).
    • The goal is to promote peace, economic growth, and cultural preservation for Muslim Filipinos.
  • CAR (Cordillera Administrative Region)
    • A region in Northern Luzon that is home to many indigenous groups, like the Igorots.
    • Unlike BARMM, it does not have self-rule but is managed by the national government.
    • Created in 1987 to help preserve the unique culture and identity of the Cordilleran people.
    • Includes 6 provinces known for mountains, rice terraces, and cool weather.
    • Many people in this region want autonomy (self-rule), but it has not yet been granted.
