  • Iodine test-starch
    pour idodine into dimples
    place food samples into other dimples and pour idoine into the food samples
    If strach is present it will go from red to blue/black
  • Emulsifusion:lipids
    Ad food samples to test tube
    ad 2cm3 of ethanil
    then shake
    then ad 2cm3 of water
    then shake if lipids are present it will turn from clear to clouds white
  • Biuret test:proteins
    add sodium hydroxide to a test tube followed by some copper sulfphate
    ad the food samples and if protein is present then it will turn from blue to purple
  • Benedicts test:Glucose
    Add food samples to test tube
    ad benedicts regant into the test tubes (same volume)
    then add boilinmg water to a beaker and place the the test tube inside the beaker
    if glucose is present it will turn from blue to dark orange or red
  • if glucose is prsent it will turn from Blue to red or dark orange
  • if Lipids is present it will turn from CLEAR to cloudy white
  • if proteins are present it will turn from BLUE to purple
  • If strach is present it will turn from RED to blue-black
