  One of an alternative form of a gene
• What is a chromosome?

  Tightly coiled DNA

  Linear in shape

  In the nucleus of a Eukaryotic cell

  In the cyptoplasm of a prokaryotic cell
• What is a locus?

  A location of a particular gene in a chromosome
• What is a homologous pair?

  Pairs of matching chromosomes that have the same genes in the exact same location
• What are histones?

  Protiens associated in DNA- DNA will wrap around them
• Prokaryotic DNA?

  Circular

  Free in the cell

  Short in length

  Not associated with histones
