Great expectations characters

• Pip: protagonist, raised by his abuse sister and her husband, loves Estella, ashamed by his family’s poverty
• Miss Havisham: adopted Estella, thinks all men are evil, taught Estella to hate all men, left by Arthur, her fiancé on her wedding day
• Estella: Pip‘s love, married Drummle but got abused by him, high social class, doesn’t know how to love
• Magwitch: Pip’s benefactor, Estella’s father, died while in prison, convict that Pip helped, escaped the prison boat
• Mrs. Joe Gargery: Pip’s sister, died while Pip was away, attacked by Orlick, married Joe, abused Pip and Joe
• Joe Garagery: Married Pip’s sister, was taught how to read and write by Pip and mostly Biddy, blacksmith
• John Wemmick: works for Mr. Jaggers’, live in London
• Mr. Jaggers: lives in London, Miss Havisham’s lawyer , Pip’s appointed guardian ,
• compeyson: convict who committed muliple crimes but blamed it on magwitch, his partner, helped arthur leave Miss Havishamnfor money
• Drummle: marries Estella, abuses Estella, dies
• Mr. Pumblechook: Joe’s uncle, friends with Mrs. Joe, helps Pip meet Miss Havisham and go to London to be a gentlemen
• Orlick: attacks Mrs. Joe, doesn’t like Pip or his family, antagonist when Pip is young
• Biddy: Mrs. Joe‘s caretaker, married Joe and had a son with him, taught Joe how to read and write, told Pip to visit and to stop treating his family poorly
• Herbert Pocket: Pip’s friend, lives in London, teaches Pip how to be a gentlemen, young like Pip
