CS: Deforestation in Malaysia

• Location: below the equator in southern east Asia. North of Indonesia, south of Vietnam and connected to Thailand forming a peninsula.
• Reasons for deforestation:

  • dam building
  • stash & burn - forest is burnt for farming
  • road building
  • logging
  • palm oil plantations
