      Location- Middle of the brain 
      Contains- Somatosensory cortex 
      Role- Processing sensory information 
      Damage- Loss of sensation

      Location- Back of brain 
      Contains- Visual cortex 
      Role- Vision 
      Info from right visual field goes to left visual cortex & vice versa 
      Damage- Blindness 
    • Wernicke’s Area 
      Location- In Temporal Lobe 
      Role- Responsible for understanding speech/language (language comprehension) 
      Damage- Speech is fluent but meaningless 
    • Cerebellum 
      Location- Back of brain (bottom) 
      Involved in regulating movement and balance (e.g. walking) 
    • Brain Stem 
      Most vital region for survival 
      It forms a connection between the brain & spinal cord 
      Maintains vital control of heart & lungs and coordinates reflex 
    • Temporal Lobe
      Location- At the bottom of the brain 
      Contains- the auditory area and Wernicke’s area 
      Role- Analysing speech-based information and language 
      Damage- Inability to comprehend language or partial hearing loss 
    • Broca’s Area 
      Location- Frontal Lobe 
      Role- Speech production 
      Damage- Slow or slurred speech 
    • Frontal Lobe 
      Location- Front of brain 
      Contains- Motor area and Broca’s area 
      Role- Personality, decision making, thinking and motor movement
