  From diet with saturated fats
• What is a lipoprotein?

  Cholesterol + protein -> lipoprotein
• Why is cholesterol transported as a lipoprotein?

  • Insoluble in water
  • So cant be transported on bloodstream by itself
• What do HDLs do?

  • Mainly proteins 🍗
  • Transport cholesterol from body tissue to liver
  • When levels too high
• What do LDLS do?

  • Mainly lipids
  • Transport cholesterol form liver to blood
  • Used by cells when levels are low
• What do anti-cholesterol drugs do?

  • Prevent LDL synthesis
  • Increase HDL
