  • Weakness- lacks TESTABILITY
  • No EVIDENCE to SUPPORT- THEORETICAL
  • Decreases VALIDITY- cannot be FALSIFIED so lacks SCIENTIFIC CREDIBILITY
  • However- UNREALISTIC to say that info goes straight to 3 stores
• Phonological Loop:

  • Processes auditory info
  • Words heard- stored in phonological store
  • (Also the case for written info)
  • Works with the ARTICULATORY PROCESS
• ARTICULATORY PROCESS:

  • Alows REHEARSAL
  • Repeating SOUNDS & WORDS in a LOOP
  • Keeps them in WORKING MEMORY (2 seconds long)
  • Works with the PHONOLOGICAL LOOP
• Visual- spatial sketchpad:

  • Stores visual / spatial information 
  • BADDELEY- Capacity= 3/4 objects
