• tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) that effects plants by causing mosaic patterns on leaves and parts of the leaves become discoloured
• the discolouration means that the plant cant carry out photosynthesis as well, so the virus affects growth
• TMV is spread through contact with infected plants or contaminated tools
