mumbai slum sanitation project

• rapid growth of slum area's has put lots of pressure on sewage systems throughout the city
• some places - hundreds of people have to share one toilet - estimated - 1 in 20 have to use the streets
• this project aims to improve sanitation in the slum for up to one million slum dwellers across the city
• so far:

  • 300 community toilet blocks
  • 5100 individual toilets
  • separate for men and women
