Stage 1,6-8 years ,social information role taking:
Child develops differentiation and can tell the difference between their own perspective and others they are able to do this because they understand that others have access to different information
Stage 2, 8-10 years, self-reflective role taking:
Child can put themselves in the position of the other person and really appreciate that perspective but one external perspective at a time.
Stage 3,10-12 years, Mutual role taking: A child can step out of a two person situation and imagine how themself and other person looks like from a third(impartial) person's perspective .

Stage 4, 12-15+ years, societal role taking :understanding that thoughts and feelings of others are affected by societal norms and beliefs.
