Physics paper 2 practicals

• Investigating springs:

  1)Add masses onto spring to change force.

  2)Measure extension with ruler at each weight.

  3) gradient of graph=spring constant
• Flux density:

  1)place a magnet on a balance

  2)Tare balance measure mass when known current flowing

  3)convert to newtons

  4)measure length of wire in field

  5)rearrange f=bil to calculate b
• newtons first law of motion:

  1)accelerate trolley on track with slotted mass on strong over pulley.

  2)use light/photogates to measure acceleration.

  3)change force by removing masses snd placing on trolley.

  4)plot F against a gradient = total mass
