Epithelial tissue types

• Simple squamous epithelium is located in lining of blood vessels e.g. arteries, veins and capillaries and lining of alveoli
• Simple cuboidal is found on surface of ovaries thyroid, and salivary glands
• Simple columnar is found in stomach intestines and lining of uterus
• Stratified squamous is found the outer layer of skin (epidermis)
• Pseudostratified columnar is found in nasal passage, trachea and bronchi
• Transitional epithelium is found in urinary bladder and urethra
