  .Higher resolution than CTs

  .Can identify damaged areas of brain, not function
• How is MRI used in diagnosis?

  . Show damage/ diseased areas of brain

  . E.g. tumours

  . Tumours respond differently to magnetic fields than healthy cells

  ->lighter

  . Show size and location of tumour

  . You can find function affected by tumour
