    • How do we deal with informed consent?
      Write a letter asking for the consent of ppts to take part in the research
    • How do we deal with confidentiality?
      Do not take the names of ppts
    • How do we deal with deception and protection from harm?
      Debrief the ppts and tell them the true aim of the study, so that there is no lasting psychological harm and do not physically harm ppts
    • How do we deal with the right to withdraw?
      Before or after the research is conducted give ppts the option to withdraw their data
    • What informed consent?
      Consent given by a ppt who has been fully informed about the contents of the research
    • What is deception?
      Purposely misleading ppts in order to conceal the aim of the resarch
    • What is the right to withdraw?
      The right of ppts to withdraw themselves and their data from the study at any given time should they request it
    • What is confidentiality?
      Protection of sensitive information, such as ppt names, from disclosure when results are published
    • What is protection from harm?
      Protecting ppts from physical and mental harm
    • What is the BPS?
      British Psychological Society that created the code of ethics and conduct which researchers must follow
