Both poets are fascinated by concept of time

• In Duffys collection ‘Mean Time’ and Larkins collection ‘The Whitsun Weddings’, both poets reinforce their ‘fascination of the concept of time’ by exploring times cyclical nature and how it affects everyone universally. While duffy uses her poems ‘Before you were mine’ and ‘Mean Time’ to explore time as a villainous force that takes away the beauty of the present, and creates pain and suffering. Larkin uses his poems ‘Love songs in age’ and ‘Afternoons’ to shows the effects of time as a more natural process that everyone will have to experience.
