  • Hamstrings (Posterior Thigh)
    • Biceps Femoris (Biceps= 2 heads, there are 2 heads to the biceps femoris (Long head and short head) AND lateral insertion
    • Semitendinosus (Inserts/attaches at the pes anserine (Anteromedial knee), when trying to identify this muscle look for the tendon that wraps around to the anterior knee) AND medial insertion
    • Semimembranosus (The "membranous" is most medial, larger than the semitendinosus) AND medial insertion
  • Quadriceps (Anterior Thigh)
    • Rectus Femoris (main help flexor muscle, found in the middle of the quadricep/thigh)
    • Vastus Lateralis (most lateral quadriceps muscle)
    • Vastus Medialis Oblique (Most medial quadriceps muscle)
    • Sartorius (AKA tailor's muscle, allows you to cross you legs, attaches at the Pres Anserine)
  • Adductors (Medial Thigh) Part One:
    • Pectineus (Most superior adductor muscle, short and rectangle in shape)
    • Gracilis (In Latin, gracilis means "slender", originates/starts at the pubic bone and inserts/attaches to the Pes Anserine, looks like a straight line)
