  Shield = wide + short at constructive + lava = faster flow + not viscous at mid Atlantic ridge
• Earthquakes = at constructive + destructive = ground shaking + building collapses = makes volcano worse = adds layer of vulnerability
• Lava + lava bombs

  Destroys landscape + when hardened = hard to remove

  If viscous = blocks main vent goes to 2nd vent = explosive = can be forced into air = lave bombs
