Postnatal Women

Cards (3)

  • Once the baby is born, it’s mother should maintain a healthy diet and increased micronutrient intake in order to produce good levels of breastmilk.
  • Increased water or fluid intake is necessary as it makes up the majority of breastmilk, and babies are at high risk of dehydration.
  • Pregnant body store fats to help with production of milk, so energy rich foods are needed to produce milk and provide the baby with energy too.
