    • Aim: investigate effect of weapons on accuracy of EWT
    • Procedure: in low anxiety condition man walked through with pen and grease on his hand
    • in high anxiety conditions, he walked through with a knife covered in blood

    • 49% of people could identify the man ( low anxiety condition )
    • 33% of people could identify the man ( high anxiety condition )
  • Yuille & Cutshall ( 1986 ):
    • Aim: investigate effect of anxiety of EWT
    • Procedure: interview eyewitness of a real shooting in Vancouver, Canada
    • only 13 out of 21 participants took part
    • after 4 - 5 months of the event participants were asked to rate stress levels out of 7 and memory recollection was compared to the police report

    • Results: witness had high accuracy from their original report after 5 months
    • However some minor details were less accurate ( age/height etc)
    • participants with highest level of stress were accurate ( 88% ) than the less stressed ( 75% )
