Interactions in the Atmosphere

• Atmospheric Phenomena is when the differential of temperatures between two adjacent spots on earth is large enough to cause wind.
• Three Main Types:

  • Local Winds
  • Monsoon
  • Intertropical Convergent Zone
• Sea Breeze occurs during daytime when the movement of wind travels from the sea to the land.
• Land Breeze occurs during nighttime when the movement of wind travels from the land to the sea.
• During the sea breeze, land's convection receives lower heat capacity as the warm air rises while the sea's cooler air sinks to replace.
• During the Land Breeze, the sea's convection receives higher heat capacity as its airflow indicates a low-pressure area, meaning the opposite of the land's temperature.
