The last days of Jesus' life

• • Jesus had a last meal with his friends. He explained that when he was gone the holy spirit would be with them.
  • He gave his disciples bread and wine - ' This is my body given for you '
  • Jesus knew one of his disciples would betray him ' the hand of him who is going to betray him is with mine on the table '
• • Jesus and his disciples planned to spend the night in the Garden of Gethsemane. In the middle of the night, Judas bought soldiers to arrest Jesus.
  • Jesus was trialed before the Jewish high council for blasphemy
  • Then Jesus was taken to the Roman Governor, Pontius Pilate who sentenced Jesus to death, even though he was innocent
• • Jesus' death by crucifixtion was proof of his humanity for Christians, as he did die.
  • Christians believe it was a sacrifice for forgiveness of humanities sins
• Jesus' Resurrection

  • Jesus rose from the dead three days after he died, it shows Christians that Jesus was God as he could overcome death, ' he is not here! he has risen! '
  • Jesus rose up to heaven. The holy spirit came into the world. ' He was taken up before their very eyes '
