Aerobic Respiration

Subdecks (3)

Cards (17)

  • The four stages in aerobic respiration are glycolysis, the link reaction, the Krebs cycle and oxidative phosphorylation.
  • The first three stages are a series of reactions. The products from these reactions are used in the final reaction to produce loads of ATP.
  • The first stage (glycolysis) happens in the cytoplasm of cells and the other 3 stages take place in the mitochondria.
  • All cells use glucose to respire, but organisms can also break down other complex organic molecules, which can then be respired.
