    • Crime is any form of action that breaks a written law in society e.g. murder or robbery.
      It results in conviction sentencing either prison or community service.
    • Deviance is behaviour that violates social norms, but not necessarily laws. It can be seen as breaking the unwritten rules of society
    • Social construct: patterns of behavior based on norms and expectations in society. These change over time e.g. attitudes towards homosexuality as a cause.
